Aunque esquivar la estad\u00edstica parece dif\u00edcil, tomar en cuenta estos cinco factores te permitir\u00e1n vivir una vida sin dolor de espalda baja.<\/p>\n<p>Pero primero, un poco de contexto. La lumbalgia se expresa como \u201cun dolor muscular hasta una sensaci\u00f3n de ardor o dolor muy agudo o punzante\u201d, seg\u00fan informaci\u00f3n publicada en el sitio web de Mayo Clinic. \u201cEl dolor puede propagarse por la pierna o empeorar cuando te inclinas hacia adelante, giras, levantas un objeto, te paras o caminas\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Las causas de la lumbalgia son las enfermedades de huesos o m\u00fasculos (no tumores ni c\u00e1ncer), en un 90%, y enfermedades espec\u00edficas, en un 10%, de acuerdo con el traumat\u00f3logo ortopedista Fernando Hidalgo. Entre esas se destacan distensi\u00f3n muscular o de ligamentos, da\u00f1o de los discos, artritis y osteoporosis.<\/p>\n<p>Ahora s\u00ed, estos son los cinco factores para prevenir el dolor de espalda baja:<\/p>\n<h3>Peso saludable.<\/h3>\n<p>El sobrepeso da\u00f1a la espalda. Por ello es importante llevar una dieta equilibrada y una vida activa. Se recomiendan actividades aer\u00f3bicas de bajo impacto, como la caminata o la nataci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<h3>Ejercicio.<\/h3>\n<p>Desarrollar fuerza y flexibilidad muscular fortalecen el tronco. Disciplinas como el pilates se enfocan en estos objetivos sin causar da\u00f1os a la columna.<\/p>\n<h3>Salud f\u00edsica y mental.<\/h3>\n<p>Realizarse controles m\u00e9dicos generales anuales para conocer el estado de salud general y tomar medidas en caso de que fuera necesario. No descuidar la salud mental. Las personas con depresi\u00f3n y ansiedad pueden tener mayor riesgo.<\/p>\n<h3>Tabaquismo.<\/h3>\n<p>Fumar provoca tos, y esto, a su vez, puede causar hernia de disco. Adem\u00e1s, fumar reduce el flujo de sangre hacia la columna y aumenta el riesgo de osteoporosis.<\/p>\n<h3>Posturas.<\/h3>\n<p>Levantar objetos de forma adecuada, es decir, con la fuerza de las piernas y no de la espalda. Mantener una postura erguida, al estar de pie, y usar sillas ergon\u00f3micas si se pasa mucho tiempo en postura sentada.<\/p>\n<p>El diagn\u00f3stico temprano adecuado y el tratamiento son importantes para evitar que el dolor se vuelva cr\u00f3nico. El tratamiento debe ser integral, incluyendo medidas farmacol\u00f3gicas y medidas no farmacol\u00f3gicas. El tratamiento farmacol\u00f3gico apunta a aliviar el dolor.
